Teckentrup innovations for BAU: Fire-proof sliding doors

Stylish fire protection: Thanks to the elegantly concealed guide system and the high-quality door leaf surface, the fire-proof sliding door fits harmoniously into the internal architecture – as you can see here at the vocational college in Recklinghausen, Germany.

Attractive Fire Protection, Easy Installation
New type of fire-proof sliding doors: Teckentrup presented the aesthetically pleasing innovations at BAU 2011. Thanks to their compact design, the doors are now quicker and easier to install and available as a single or double-leaf version. At BAU 2011, Teckentrup showcased the fire-resistant T90 sliding door “Teckentrup E 72”, tested and approved to EN 1634-1 / DIN 4102-5.
Teckentrup fire-proof sliding doors not only offer a high-level of safety, they are also highly attractive and very practical. An outstanding appearance and simpler installation were the key requirements for the development of the new series.

Stylish design
Due to attractive surfaces and runner rail covers, the doors in the new series – e.g. the stainless steel version - are also suitable for exclusive looking rooms. Glazing elements allow for creative freedom.
The elegant overall appearance is created by a fine shadow groove. This intelligent tongue-and-groove connection system for the elements does not require a panel cover. Furthermore, the runner rails and attachment parts are fully concealed, and the end dampers are integrated into the door leaf, making them invisible when you look at the door. The result is a very stylish door.

Safe and reliable operation
The guide system of the sliding doors consists of tubular runner rails and height-adjustable running gears. These are perfectly harmonized and ensure quiet, low-wear operation. Prior to its launch, the door was subjected to a mechanical endurance test of 50,000 cycles in accordance with EN 1191, class C3 – carried out with an 8.50 x 6.00 metre door.
The stainless steel version of the door is ideal for the food industry, as it meets the most stringent hygiene requirements.

Quick and simple installation
The new door elements are roughly 30% lighter than conventional doors. This ensures that installers literally make light work of door installation.

The height-adjustable profile with inner door guide mechanism enables adjustments of up to 30 millimetres. This means that floor unevenness at the installation site can be compensated for even after door installation. The interchangeable central elements allow the easy assembly of large doors. The (optional) threshold-free wicket door is also suitable for escape routes and emergency exits.

Installation is carried out with numerous pre-fabricated parts and simple clamp fastenings, e.g. for the counterweight box covers and panels. This results in less screw connections – reducing the installation time and facilitating maintenance.
