After six years of planning and construction, the new Bethel Children's Centre, one of Germany's most modern children's hospitals, opened in Bielefeld in the summer of 2023. The new Bethel Children's Centre was designed to bring together the paediatric departments, which had previously been housed in two separate buildings, into a modern and functional children's hospital that is particularly responsive to the needs of young patients. The result is one of Germany's most modern children's hospitals with 146 beds. Around 50,000 young patients are treated here every year, either as inpatients or outpatients. From the outside, the striking building impresses with its multi-coloured façade and large windows. Inside, the attention to detail reflects the care and consideration given to young patients. Great importance was attached to a user- and patient-friendly design. This is also reflected in the selection of doors, where specific use was the main focus. Teckentrup supplied various doors for the project, in particular fire doors, in specific designs depending on their location.
