Elmau Castle G7-summit

Schloss Elmau, June 2015: The heads of state of the seven major economic nations meet for the G7 summit at the foot of the Alps. The mountain panorama and a representative view of the hotel dominate the front pages of the world press and TV news for two days. A huge security team turns the hotel into a high-security facility for the two days. In the background, Teckentrup doors ensure that fire and smoke cannot cause major damage to the hotel, which opened in the spring – even after the security team has left. The hotel's basement houses the utility and technical rooms: heating room, laundry room, storage room, etc. Here, the focus is primarily on functional solutions, such as robust doors that offer high reliability – like the Teckentrup “62” door series. The modular system always offers a suitable solution for different situations – for example, with individual fire and smoke protection, or in terms of the size of the single or double-leaf elements.  At Schloss Elmau, the doors from the 62 series are installed as fire-resistant T90 fire barriers where a high level of fire protection is required, and where additional functions were needed, multi-purpose doors (Teckentrup dw 62) are used—for example, as exterior doors. To protect the transitions between guest and operational areas from unauthorized access and at the same time enable easy opening, the doors here were equipped with contactless access control via chip cards.
The details are equally high-quality: the strike plates and faceplates are attractive and durable stainless steel (V2A), and most doors have sliding door closers or even integrated door closers. In many cases, integrated hold-open systems increase convenience, and escape route security is ensured with self-locking panic locks.
