Efficient and fast, even with small load volumes – that was the goal of Elvis Teilladungssystem GmbH when it planned its new transshipment hall. It had to be possible to transship not only pallets, but also smaller partial loads. At the same time, the loading capacities of the trucks had to be optimally utilised. The result is a 10,000 square metre hall with two entrances and exits each, allowing lorries to drive in and out easily. To ensure that the entrances and exits did not pose an obstacle to loading, they were designed to be oversized: 15 metres wide and almost five metres high. A special solution was needed for the doors. Teckentrup, an experienced door and gate specialist, took on this challenge. he basic idea was to use roller doors despite the extreme width. This is because the Elvis AG truck port requires extremely wide access gates for truck traffic. Two Teckentrup roller doors with a movable centre post meet this requirement and create sufficient space for trucks to enter and exit without any tedious manoeuvring.
