Japanese purism: Tadao Ando's buildings are synonymous with archetypal architecture. Karlsruhe now also has one such solitary structure: the new headquarters of the Weisenburger Group. Here, even the smallest details have been carefully thought out. So it comes as no surprise that the fire-rated sliding doors, which prevent the spread of fire in the long office corridors in an emergency but should otherwise be as invisible as possible, require precise planning. The sliding doors (‘Teckentrup 62 FST’ EI290) offer the highest technical standards: they provide effective protection against fire and smoke. With their cool, modern industrial look, the building elements blend harmoniously into Ando's architectural language. A contemporary administrative building that displays its modernity in both its overall design and its details: this is the new headquarters of the Weisenburger Group in Karlsruhe, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Around 11,000 square metres of floor space, an innovative working environment on seven floors, including a cafeteria, fitness studio and underground car park.
