Your rights as a person affected by data processing

Below you will find information on which personal data (this is all data that identifies or makes identifiable you as a natural person (hereinafter “Data subject”), such as name, address, e-mail address or also user behaviour) we collect during your visit to our site and how this is used. Data subjects are visitors to our website and users of our online services.

Data subject rights
In accordance with Art. 15 of the GDPR, you have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you, including any recipients and the planned storage period. If inaccurate personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR. If the legal requirements are met, you can request the deletion or restriction of processing and object to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR)

If you wish your data to be deleted but we are still legally obliged to retain it, access to your data will be restricted (blocked). The same applies in the event of a contradiction. You can exercise your right to data portability insofar as the technical possibilities are available to the recipient and to us.

Our data protection officer is available as a contact person for your data protection rights at datenschutz@teckentrup.biz.

Legal basis
The legal bases for our data processing are as follows in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR:

  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 a) GDPR for the processing of personal data with the consent of the data subject.
  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 b) GDPR for the necessary processing of personal data for the performance of a contract with the data subject as well as for the implementation of corresponding pre-contractual measures.
  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 c) of the GDPR for the necessary processing of personal data to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject under any applicable law of the EU or under any applicable law of a country where the GDPR applies in whole or in part.
  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1  f) GDPR for the necessary processing of personal data to safeguard the legitimate interests of us or of third parties, unless the fundamental freedoms and rights and interests of the data subject are overridden.
Legitimate interests include, in particular, our business interest in being able to provide our website, information security, the enforcement of our own legal claims and compliance with other legal provisions.

For this purpose, we use service companies that are separately committed to secrecy and data protection within the scope of the provision of services. Data will only be passed on to the authorities if overriding legal provisions apply.

Right of revocation
Consents given can be revoked by you with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 of the GDPR.

Purposes of processing
General: Presentation of the company, provision of services and/or sale of products as well as communication via the Internet. The purpose of the data processing on this website is to provide information about our company's products and services and, if necessary, to process applications with the possibility for users to contact the contact persons in the company in a targeted manner.

Data security/encryption
This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Here you can find the information available regarding the data processing on our website

1. General

Insofar as you have provided us with personal data, we use this to answer your enquiries, to advise you and process contracts concluded with you and for technical administration. Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties or otherwise transferred if this is necessary for the purpose of contract processing or for billing purposes or if you have given your prior consent. You have the right to revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future (see right of revocation).

The legal basis for the collection, processing and forwarding of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 b) GDPR in the context of contract processing.

This data is deleted after expiry of the applicable statutory retention obligations. Insofar as we are not subject to any statutory retention obligations, the data will be deleted when the purpose ceases to apply. You have the right to information and the right to object to your data stored by us at any time. You can find more information under “Data subject rights” and “Right of withdrawal”.

2. Server data collection

Purpose of the processing
When you visit our site, various server statistics are automatically stored, which your browser transmits to our provider's server: Among other things, the IP address of your device, the date and time of access, the name and URL of accessed files, the website from which access was made or from which you were directed to our site (referrer URL), the browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your device as well as the name of your provider are logged.

The aforementioned data is processed by us for the purposes of smooth connection establishment and system security. This data is not merged with other data sources. The IP address is anonymised. The accruing connection data is automatically deleted; usually after a maximum of 14 days. If the website is misused, log data whose further storage is necessary for evidentiary purposes will be retained until the incident has been clarified.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and § 25 para. 2 TTDSG (in this case, however, only data such as browser or header information that is transmitted inevitably or due to (browser) settings of the terminal device when calling up our website). This is not to be considered as "accessing information that is already stored in the terminal device". Our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO results from the fact that we want to ensure secure operation of the website and detect any attacks.

3. Contact form and request by e-mail

Purpose of the processing
When using our contact form, we collect and store the name, address, telephone number and e-mail address for the purpose of answering your enquiry. The telephone number for a callback is optional. If you send us a contact request by e-mail, we collect and store the e-mail address and the data contained in the e-mail.

You can make enquiries about garage doors, doors and industrial doors free of charge via the Teckentrup website. To do this, you must enter your contact details in our contact form. In order to be able to provide you with a suitable offer for your request, you must provide us with your personal data. With your consent, these are selected according to location and made available to our Teckentrup specialist dealers for further processing. A specialist partner will send you a quotation based on your request.
We observe the principle of data avoidance and data economy. This means that we collect, process and use as little personal data as possible. In principle, we only pass on data to companies if they have given their consent to do so. You can revoke your consent at any time by sending an email to marketing@teckentrup.biz.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 a) GDPR, as you consent to the aforementioned processing of your data when using the form as well as sending an e-mail. In addition, the legal basis also results from Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 b), as the storage of the data is necessary for the fulfilment of a pre-contractual or possibly later contractual relationship.

The deletion of the data takes place when the purpose of the storage has ceased to exist, i.e. after answering your e-mail/contact form enquiry or when the matter connected with the enquiry has been conclusively clarified, but at the latest after one year.

You have the right to revoke the consent given at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent.

You have the right to information and the right to object to your data stored by us at any time. You can find more information under “Data subject rights” and “Right of withdrawal”.

  • Information (such as your name and username and email address) provided during registration

  • Identifying yourself when logging in

  • The data collected during sign-up will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on our website and will then be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
  • Teckentrup Campus:
    - Users can register, deregister or rebook for seminars, consume e-learning, view, download and print their own certificates, view their own test results and provide feedback on events.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR. Your registration for our TEO (Teckentrup Simply Online) portal for business partners.

Unless exceptions apply within the services mentioned below, your personal data will be stored for as long as you use your user account. After deletion of your account, your personal data will be deleted within 6 months. Legal retention obligations or the need for your personal data for legal action due to misconduct in the use of services or payment problems may mean that we store your personal data for longer. In such a case, we will inform you accordingly.

You have the right to information and the right to object to your data stored by us at any time. You can find more information under “Data subject rights” and “Right of withdrawal”.

5. Newsletter

Purpose of the processing
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you. The sign-up for the newsletter takes place in the double opt-in procedure. I.e., after sign-up you will receive an e-mail with which you have to confirm your sign-up. This procedure excludes the possibility of someone unauthorised registering with your e-mail address. Your sign-up for the newsletter is logged (storage of the sign-up and confirmation time and the IP address). Logging can be used to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements.

We use the services of Pardot for sending newsletters. Provider is Salesforce.com, inc. The Landmark at One Market, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. Pardot is a service with which, among other things, the sending of newsletters can be organised and analysed. Pardot Marketing Automation System is a special software for recording and evaluating the movement profiles of website visitors. Insofar as Pardot LLC processes personal data, the processing is carried out exclusively on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. We have ensured Pardot LLC's compliance with the EU Data Protection Directive via an individual agreement with Pardot LLC.
We would like to point out that the Pardot Marketing Automation System uses what are known as “cookies”, which are stored on the computer of the respective website visitor and enable an analysis of the use of the website. You can prevent the storage of these cookies at any time by making the appropriate settings in your internet browser. However, blocking these cookies may lead to restrictions in the functions and user-friendliness of our service.

For newsletters from the TEO platform we use a Typo3 solution, the functionalities are identical.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your e-mail address (and optionally your first name and surname for the purpose of personal addressing) and its use for sending the newsletter with associated performance measurement at any time. A link to cancel is provided at the end of each newsletter. In order for us to be able to prove consent previously given in the case of an unsubscribed email address, we may store it for up to 2 years before deleting it.

Legal basis  for sending the newsletter and the associated measurement of success:
This takes place on the basis of the consent of the recipients in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 a) GDPR, Art. 7 GDPR together with Section 7 para. 2 no. 3 German Fair Trade Practices Act (UWG) or on the basis of the legal permission in accordance with Section 7 para. 3 UWG.
As well as Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 f): Our legitimate interest in measuring success results from the fact that we are able to identify the reading habits of our users based on the openings of the newsletters, opening times and the links clicked on, in order to be able to create and send them interest-based and useful content.

The newsletters contain what is known as a “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server when the newsletter is opened, or if we use a dispatch service provider, from their server. In the course of this retrieval, technical information, such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of the retrieval are initially collected.
This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor, if used, that of the shipping service provider to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to identify the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

The Legal basis for logging is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. 1 f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the fact that we use a secure and user-friendly newsletter system that is useful for sending and protects the personal data of newsletter subscribers. Furthermore, it allows us to prove consent.

  • In the case of consent: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a in conjunction with § 26 para. 2 BDSG, Art. 7 GDPR

We conclude an appropriate contract with each processor, which ensures that the personal data is only processed within the scope of our instructions and that the level of protection corresponds to ours

Privacy notice regarding our presence in social networks and platforms

Teckentrup GmbH & Co KG operates company presences on Facebook, Instagram, Xing and LinkedIn. As this is partly discussed differently - and very justifiably - in the field of data protection, we would like to inform you accordingly here.

We operate these presences based on our legitimate interest to communicate with the users active there and to offer information in the networks/platforms.

Legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f. GDPR) - Processing is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of the data controller or a third party, unless such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require the protection of personal data.

Since data processing is always carried out by the providers of the networks (usually for market research and advertising purposes) and this processing partly takes place outside the area of the European Union, our presences are only directed at the respective users who are active there and who have consciously agreed to the terms of use of the respective providers.

Here, the US providers commit to offering comparable guarantees of a secure level of data protection as the EU's data protection standards.

We take particular account of the following in our deliberations and implementation:

  • No exclusive information in the social networks and platforms, but purely information about posts and events on our own website.
  • No advertising and publicising of our presences outside the respective networks/platforms - i.e. no explicit recruitment of users who have not agreed to the terms of use.
  • No plug-ins or integration of scripts from the providers.
  • Regular evaluation of the presences in the social networks/platforms and risk assessments.
